I don't have a child

She was sitting there alone, watching small kids running, laughing, playing happily at the playground. Then she was approached by a lady with a stroller. The lady smiled at her, “can I sit here?” She smiled back at her,

“Oh yes, please.”

“Where’s your kid?”

“Oh no, I come here alone. I just like to watch them playing.”

Then they started to talk about themselves and get to know each other. She told the lady that she’d been married to her husband for 5 years now and they still don’t have a child. She said she’s always feeling jealous every time she saw couple walk around with kids. She felt lonely. Her sister is blessed with four kids and her brother has 5 kids.

“We have extra rooms in the house, cars, and enough money to raise children, but still we are not bless with children yet.”

The lady nod and smile at her.

“I’m sorry to hear that. Be patient sister, InsyaAllah one day you will have a child of your own. Sometimes we have tried so many things but still we don’t get what we want, there’s a reason for that which Allah knows better.”

The lady continue speaking,

“I have no intention to hurt your feelings but instead of worrying about not having a child, why don’t you pay attention to something that you already have. Your nieces and nephews. Do you visit them often? Did you ever ask to your brother and sister if they need any help for their children’s needs?”

“A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim – he does not wrong him nor does he forsake him when he is in need; whosoever is fulfilling the needs of his brother, Allah is fulfilling his needs; whosoever removes distress from a believer, Allah removes from him a distress from a distressful aspect of the Day of Resurrection; and whosoever conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults on the Day of Resurrection.”

She went back home that night thinking about what the lady had told her, that lady had a point. She and her husband were blessed with wealth, maybe because The Almighty God wants them to help her siblings to raise their children properly. Even though they are not theirs, still they are blood related. Maybe next time when she got something that bothers her mind, instead of looking at the problem as exclusively about her she will try to look at the bigger picture.
