Oh yes, I am very worried!!!

At this moment, all over the world people are talking about Sam Bacille and his film “Innocence of Muslims”. As a Muslim I am too, feel offended after hearing about it. All of us Muslims love our Prophet Muhammad (SAW), but never in my imagination that I think Prophet Muhammad will agree with the violence that some of us used to ‘teach’ those who are not-yet-Muslim. In my personal opinion, this is not right. We are angry with one person, but we are being outraged and hurting others. From what I see, what we did was approving to what they had said about Islam, that it is a religion that promoting terrorism. I remember one scene from the movie “Kingdom of Heaven” where the city was being surrounded by Salahuddin and his men, but they didn’t attack the city blindly. Salahuddin and the King of Jerusalem met each other face-to-face, and negotiated the term for what they think is best for both sides. ISLAM adalah ugama yang bertamadun, amuk yang melampau-lampau bukan ajaran ISLAM.

Let’s talk about Malaysia now shall we? I want to share with you guys what I feel now about this country. Few months back in the news, the media reported that Malaysia was one of the safest countries in the world. When I read the report and compared it with the crime cases reported in the newspaper, “one of the safest countries” really? Sorry, but I’m not convinced.

In today’s SINAR HARIAN “Ibu terbunuh selamat anak, diserang 20 lelaki”, then I recalled one case where a guy was attacked by a group of people at kedai mamak with parangs. Another case was one month back, where a woman’s hand almost severed in snatch theft incident in Kota Baru. When I told some of my friends about this their response was, “diorang tu ada musuh, asal kita tau kita tak ada musuh sudahlah.” The thing is those people who rompak, culik, curi not all of them gave a damn if we are their enemy or not. Sometimes they are very desperate. Even our celebrities, their house also was broken into. So tell me people, should I just sit down and relax? Oh yes, I am very worried!!!

My dad, he doesn’t like housing area with guard post. He said ‘leceh’!!! For me let it be ‘leceh’ now rather than ‘menyesal di kemudian hari’ later. At this moment I like to live in Johor than other states in Malaysia. Every day I pray that once I start to work, I hope that I’ll be stationed in Johor. It’s not that there are no crime cases in Johor, but I’m comfortable here. I’m familiar with the places and most of my friends are here. Come on guys, I mean we’ll feel a lot safer if we are in a place that we are familiar with, isn’t it?

Lastly people, I hope you guys and your family always stay safe. Malang memang tak berbau but we can always try to prevent something bad before it happens right? Look after each other, don’t be selfish but be alerted. Trust your instinct, your parents’ instincts, whenever they say, “mak/abah rasa tak sedap hati” trust them. Last but not the least, always pray to Allah to protect us from any harm and evil for he is the Most Gracious and Most Merciful. Jaga solat 5 waktu, make dua’a not only for ourselves but also for other people around us too.

Khairul
