Aquarium Air Masin "Salt Water Aquarium": Hobi Orang Kayangan?

Untuk coretan kali ini, saya ingin berkongsi tentang satu hobi yang baru saya ceburi kurang daripada setahun tetapi telah mendapatkan hasil yang sangat positif dan memuaskan hati. Saya percaya kebanyakan orang apabila terdengar tentang hobi saltwater aquarium, perkara pertama yang terlintas difikiran mereka adalah tentang kos. Saya faham, kerana saya sendiri mempunyai tanggapan sebegitu ketika mula-mula ingin bermula dengan hobi yang menarik ini.

Daripada pembacaan dan penyelidikan saya tentang hobi ini, memang kebanyakan video dan forum mencadangkan orang yang baru ingin berkecimpung didalam hobi ini supaya bermula dengan akuarium besar. Hal ini kerana parameter air memainkan peranan yang sangat penting dalam hobi ini. Secara teori, semakin besar saiz akuarium, semakin kecil perubahan parameter air, maka lebih tinggi kebarangkalian saltwater aquarium anda untuk berjaya. Namun masalah utama untuk bermula dengan akuarium bersaiz besar adalah kos yang sangat mahal.

Saya pernah bertanya tentang kit permulaan untuk saltwater aquarium di kedai berdekatan dan anggaran kos untuk akuarium bersaiz 2 kaki adalah RM800-900 untuk akuarium sahaja, dan ini tidak termasuk lampu “high class” yang dianggar RM1500, dosing pump RM1300, protein skimmer dan lain-lain. Jika mengambil kira kesemua peralatan dan hidupan untuk akuarium bersaiz 2 kaki, anda memerlukan lebih kurang RM3k- RM5k untuk memulakan hobi ini!!! (memang kayangan betul ni!!)

Disebabkan memang sudah lama berjanji dengan anak- anak untuk membela Nemo di rumah, saya tekad untuk bermula (baca ber-eksperimentasi) dengan akuarium bersaiz kecil walaupun peratusan kegagalan sangat tinggi untuk orang baru seperti saya. Tidak dinafikan pada 3 bulan pertama saya mengalami banyak kesukaran dan terpaksa bermula semula dari awal lebih dari 3 kali, antaranya disebabkan oleh jangkitan parasite (paling mencabar) dimana semua ikan saya tidak tahan lebih daripada 3 hari. Kedua adalah disebabkan oleh parameter air yang tidak stabil menyebabkan batu karang tidak kembang dan akhirnya mati, dan akhir sekali disebabkan oleh masalah peralatan yang rosak ketika kami sekeluarga pergi bercuti.

Saya hampir putus asa apabila sudah gagal banyak kali, namun atas sokongan isteri tersayang saya cuba untuk bermula semula, dan alhamdulillah kini pico saltwater aquarium saya berjaya bertahan 4 bulan tanpa sebarang kematian ikan mahu pun batu karang. Disini saya ingin kongsikan tips yang saya gunakan supaya lebih ramai orang boleh menikmati hobi ini dengan kos yang lebih rendah dan kejayaan yang tinggi.

Dan Brown's Books

Voila!!! Finally I have all the Dan Brown’s novels!!! *smile* I just started reading his novel this year, the first one that I read was The Da Vinci Code. Before this many people told me that the novel was much better than the movie. I already watched the movie before this, and I think everyone will agree with me if I said the movie was superb. So when they said the novel was more intriguing, that made me even more excited to read the book.

The thing is international books in Malaysia are quite expensive. Every time I went to a bookstore I just browsed around and keep telling myself that one day I’ll buy the whole collection of my favorite authors. Alhamdulillah, one of my dreams came true this year.

I really like thriller novels. My favorite author for Malay thriller novel is Ramlee Awang Murshid. You might be knowing him if you had read ADAM, TOMBIRUO, SEMANGAT HUTAN and BAGAIKAN PUTERI. And now I already have my favorite english author, Dan Brown. InsyaAllah, I’ll allocate some time to read these books other than medical books.We should do that no? Don't just read school textbooks, spend sometime to read other types of books also to broaden our knowledge and horizons, so we can look at the world from different perspectives. Keep on reading people!!!

Just finished my theory paper yesterday. I had free time, so I opened the Photoshop programme and the idea came to make new background for my blog, youtube and twitter account *smile*. Then my sisters got 'jealous' and asked me to make one for them. And tada! Boleh la kan~. Macam mana nak buat? No worries everyone can do it, very simple. I'll post the tutorial next time.

The Book and The Ring

This month I went online shopping and bought two things. The first one is THE IDEA BOOK written by Fredrik Hären. Actually my sister was the one who suggested me to buy this book. I find this book very interesting because it has 150 printed pages about creative thinking, and 150 blank pages for you to write your own idea. In other words it is a motivational book + note book, 2 in 1.

The second item that I bought, and had just arrived today is The One Ring from the movie Lord of the Ring. It’s not the actual replica of The Ring, but it has the same inscription on it like the one that you see in the film. Having the ring in my possession, makes me want to start collecting movies memorabilia. What!? Am I not allowed to have hobby? Next, I’m gonna get the Star Wars Force FX lightsaber and Harry Potter wand. *peace*

Salam viewers and hello. In this short post I just want to inform you guys that, there will be no new post regarding PEOPLE.PLACES in this blog. I already made a new page for PEOPLE.PLACES. Actually the idea is once I reach 100 pictures of PEOPLE.PLACES, I plan to make a photobook of it which will include all the pictures that I had taken during my travel. Hopefully this idea will become a reality. InsyaAllah. Down here, I put some pictures of my ‘virtual studio’ (am I using the correct term? pffttt) where I share some of my writing, editing, recording, design and photography. Learn New Stuff: Adobe AE Hoyeahhhhh!!!!

*Senyum* Yeah~ saya baru saja cuba belajar cara nak guna software Adobe After Effect, dan inilah hasilnya setelah 1 hari setengah mentelaah tutorial macam mana nak buat. Thanks to Awe sebab bagi saya installer untuk software yang sangat awesome ni. This is just the beginning guys. There are lot of things that I want to explore, insyaAllah in the future i'll make use of the skill I acquired to cheer people up. Salam.

Lately, lot of people asked me to design posters for events and also backdrop. I don’t say that I’m the best in design, because I know there are more people out there much... much... better than me (especially my ex-schoolmates like SYAHIR ZAINI 026 and ABDUL RAHMAN 015). Really admire their works during my school time. But hey, if people do like my works, then I should give it a try. Plus I get the chance of experimenting new skill every time I do new design. *smile* One more thing people should know, when you say ARTS they are very subjective. Some people may like it, some may not. For those who like it, thank you for your time. For those who don’t like it, go and make your own arts. You can critics any master piece, but don’t expect everyone to agree with you or follow what you want. C’est la vie.

Starting Over

The other day I just finished reading Tony Parsons’s book: STARTING OVER. Who is this Tony Parson guy? He is a person that writes a story that can makes you laugh, cry and angry at the same time. His book is full of emotional aspect of life, things that happen and very common in our life but never been told. Starting over is basically about a middle aged man who received a new heart from an unknown person. Everything in his life has changed after that, and he was trying his best to cope with the situation. Before this I read MAN AND BOY (the other book) a gift from a friend of mine. These two books are the best. They are really something. Should spend some time do some reading other than pharmacology, microbiology, forensic medicine and pathology. Get a life!!! (^_^)

PEOPLE.PLACES (1)

I've been thinking of doing this later on when I have my own DSLR camera. PEOPLE.PLACES is the album name, so it'll be all about people that I met and the places that I have visited. For every pictures that I take, I want to show one color theme in them like green, pink, yellow etc. It will be more artistic in that way I think. (^_^)
