I took these pictures last time when I was in Terengganu... Well, I have this thaasophobia thing (fear of being idle/boredom) so I borrowed Syazwan’s camera. I took a walk around Pasar Kepayan with Nikon D60.. Jalan punye jalan, then I met these two Pakcik. Sorg bawa beca and sorg lagi jual jam lame yg classic but with high aesthetic value. They were in their late 60s. Looking at their faces, 1001 persoalan timbul di benakku (cewah).
The first thing that came to my mind, at their age they supposed to be at home bnykan ibadat bersedia untuk bertemu Sang Pencipta. Where are the childrens? How could they let thier father still working at that age? Do they already disregard the person who brought them to this world? . . . . . I look at those pakcik from a distance, i was speechless, for a moment i pictured my father’s face in my mind . . . .
Then this thought came. Maybe I’m wrong. I had once met a taxi driver that have a daughter, a specialist in a private hospital but still he decided to be a taxi driver. Her daughter did sent money to this pakcik every month and twice a month she will visit her father. That pakcik told me, “Pakcik bawak taxi ni bukan ape, sebab pakcik suke jumpe orang, tengok orang, sembang2 dengan penumpang. Kalu duk rumah je lagi la pakcik rase sunyi. Bawak taxi ni pun dapat pahala jugak kalau niat kita baik.” That’s why I said maybe im wrong. Maybe these two Pakcik that i met at Pasar Kepayan have the same thought as Pakcik yg bawak taxi tu. One thing for sure, they did gave me some inspiration. Pictures are subjective. We need to rely on our experience and culture to understand them. (^_^)
